Reproductive Health Camp

Bajra Samaj Nepal (BSN) has conducted a two days health camp for women in Bolong-bolong Health Post and Saghutar Health Post of Raemechhap Municipality in Ramechhap District. The health camp were organized on the 8th and 9th of March 2018, with the permission of the Municipality Administration. Dr. Susan Karmacharya facilitated the camp, who has been working as a Medical Director of Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital. BSN has been conducting such health camps in different parts of Ramechhap district yearly since the last four years.

On the first day of the camp, in Bolongbolong Health Post, 72 women checked in for cervical cancer screening (with VIA method), 5 out of 72 women were suspected to have cervical cancer and re-ferred to chriotherapy treat-ment in town. 71 patients got dental treatment. 195 pa-tients got eye check up and 250 people got general treat-ment.

On the second day of the camp, in Saghutar Health Post, 2 women out of 24 were suspected of having cervical cancer. The eye care unit checked up 88 patients while dental unit checked 27 patients. 65 patients were checked in for ultrasound (video X-ray) service, women’s health and other check up.

After the camps, 6 women from Bolong Bolong were treated by Nepal Network for Cancer Treatment and Re-search (NNCTR), Banepa, Kavre, Nepal. During the camp, local social workers’ group, health post and women health volunteer ‘Mahila swasthya swayam-sevika’ helped for accommo-dation, advertisements and camp arrangements.
